My clean and organized style is a direct product of the BFA graphic design program at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
My professional career began on the West Coast in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry. I also worked for a marketing and advertising company, designing for many clients, including a large public water utility, local business-to-business, and the commercial real estate industry.
After the birth of my first daughter in 2000, I returned to the Boston area and began working as an art director with a tech startup. This position involved a great mix of print and web UI UX development. I learned much about collaborating with sales, marketing, and engineering to deliver a cohesive user experience.
In 2003, I relocated to Connecticut after the birth of my second daughter as an art director with an advertising agency. This position exposed me to advertising campaigns and the constant hustle of supporting pitching and prospecting for new clients.
My next step was to change to freelance work for a better work-life balance. I began contract work in 2006 and ended up at a political direct mail agency. It didn't take long to realize that applying my experience to helping elect Democratic candidates would be a worthy focus, and a six-month contract quickly became a permanent position. Many years later, I am still passionate about the people and causes I get to be a part of.
I recently returned to school and completed the Web Development certificate program at Manchester Community College. Much has changed since I built web content using tables, but I am excited to find new opportunities to learn and grow as a team member who brings a ton of design experience to the table.
If you need a hardworking designer for your firm or next project, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks for taking the time to visit my site.
